It starts with the name

For those with inquiring minds, Tashunka is a Lakota Sioux word that translates to “male horse.” This name was selected due to its unique quality and meaning.

Since its founding in 2002, Tashunka’s mission has been directed at providing horsemanship experiences, outdoor adventures, and leadership opportunities to equestrians of all ages.

R-A Mazzola

Since 1985, owner/trainer/instructor, R-A Mazzola, has been involved with horses in one way or another. Western, English, Dressage… he has experience in them all. Gaming and Jumping? Check and check. Trail Riding, Packing, and natural horsemanship? Yes, yes, and yes.

The fact of the matter is, R-A has an understanding of a wide range of riding disciplines. Horses, children, and the great outdoors, combined with some skilled leadership, continue to remain R-A’s true passion and area of specialties.
